Cannon Beach & Oregon Coast

On a recent work trip to Portland, my co-worker and I decided to drive out to Cannon Beach & Oregon Coast for a day. We left Portland early in the morning and our drive was scenic and full of nature.

It took us about two hours to get onto U.S. Highway 101 and take it up to Fort Stevens State Park. We stopped to see the 1936 Wreck of Peter Iredale off of the Pacific coast. The weather was cloudy and a bit chilly. We were able to just walk up to the shipwreck and some even had their cars out on the beach.

Then we drove down to Cannon Beach and the sun was finally coming out. The view of the Haystack Rock off of the road just took us by surprise. We found street parking and walked out to the beach. The view was absolutely breathtaking.

We truly got to experience the wonder of Oregon coast at Cannon Beach. If you are ever visiting Portland or Oregon, make sure to put Cannon Beach and Oregon coast on your list. You won’t regret it.
